Canellakis-Brown Duo at Clarion Concerts

The Canellakis-Brown duo perform at the Clarion Concerts gala this coming Saturday 8 June: cellist Nicholas Canellakis and pianist-composer Michael Stephen Brown, acclaimed all over the world for their gorgeous sound as a duo as much as for their solo performances. The program centers on the repertoire of their new album, Bromance: music by Lukas Foss, Clara Schumann, Saint Saens, Michael Stephen Brown and others with arrangements by Nick Canellakis and the addition of the mighty Grieg sonata. Charlotte Wilson speaks to them about their friendship and what it does for their music.
Clarion Concerts gala concert, 3pm Saturday June 8 at a private farmhouse in Ancramdale, Columbia County. More info at https://www.clarionconcerts.org/

Charlotte Wilson has been immersed in classical music all her life. Her parents were great music lovers, always had something playing on the radio or turntable, and she began on recorder and then piano before she can remember. Charlotte originally wanted to be a concert pianist but just didn’t quite have it, no matter how hard she practiced! She tried many other instruments slightly too late (violin, cello, clarinet) before discovering radio. Charlotte can be heard from 4-8pm weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays.
