Strangers on the Earth

We're very excited to be a part of this.

Berkshire Bach Artistic Director Eugene Drucker introduces the new Berkshire Bach Portals series, a fascinating journey through creativity inspired by one of the greatest musical minds of all time, J.S. Bach. The quarterly season includes two films and two book readings by prominent artists and scholars with events in September, November, January, and March. Each event is held in three locations so you can choose the one that's most convenient--South County | North County / Pioneer Valley | Capital Region.

The first session, Strangers on the Earth by filmmaker Tristan Cook, follows American cellist Dane Johansen as he walks the Camino de Santiago, the ancient pilgrimage road from France to Spain, with his cello on his back and stops to play Bach in churches along the way. The event includes a short live performance by Mr. Drucker, a screening of the film, and a post-screening discussion with the filmmaker.

7pm | Sep-6 | Lenox Town Hall | Lenox, MA
7pm | Sep-7 | The Berkshire Museum | Pittsfield, MA
3pm | Sep-8 | WMHT Educational Telecommunications | Troy, NY

Estimated event duration: two and a quarter hours
