The Meeting of Dido and Aeneas

Henry Purcell has been called the finest English composer before the 20th century, if not of all time. He premiered his opera Dido and Aeneas in 1689. The Berkshire Bach Society continues its 2025 season on Saturday, April 5 at 4pm, with a concert performance of Henry Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas. We spoke with conductor James Bagwell and soprano Kendra Berentsen, singing the role of Dido.
