Albany Pro Musica’s International Choral Festival is a free, week-long choral institute for high-school students, held at the University at Albany, with workshops, vocal clinics, and a chance to sing under the direction of esteemed guest conductors and alongside professional ensembles. As part of the Festival, there are three remarkable performances which will be open to the public, featuring EXIGENCE, Albany Pro Musica, the Mostly Modern Orchestra and the Student Festival Chorus. We spoke about the festival with Albany Pro Musica’s Opalka Family Artistic Director Jose Daniel Flores-Caraballo, former board chair Rex Smith, and composer Sam Guarnaccia.
