The Sebastians at Cooperstown

The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival features the "leading early music group of our age" (New York Times) The Sebastians, with their program "Over the Alps" charting the musical journey of the Italian virtuosic style through Castello, Corelli, and Vivaldi, then following its influence north into the German and Austrian masters: Biber, Froberger, Handel, and Bach.

Artistic Director Linda Chesis gives an overview of the summer season in Cooperstown and violinist Nicholas di Eugenio gives fascinating insights into stilus fantasticus, stile moderno, violins, bows, baroque performance practice, and this performance in Cooperstown which will be utterly unique

Charlotte Wilson has been immersed in classical music all her life. Her parents were great music lovers, always had something playing on the radio or turntable, and she began on recorder and then piano before she can remember. Charlotte originally wanted to be a concert pianist but just didn’t quite have it, no matter how hard she practiced! She tried many other instruments slightly too late (violin, cello, clarinet) before discovering radio. Charlotte can be heard from 4-8pm weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays.
