The historic Round Lake auditorium is famous above all for its organ, a 1900-pipe Davis Ferris Tracker pipe organ, built in New York City in 1847 and the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States. This September 20 they have secured the organist known as the top leading woman organist in the world, Gail Archer, Chair of Music at Barnard College, organist at Vassar and founder of the international women organists network MUSFORUM, recently returned from her annual performing trip to Europe with a highly acclaimed album of Bulgarian music, Dobrich.
She puts this historic organ through its paces in a widely varied program this Sunday September 20, 4pm at the Round Lake Auditorium:
